The Kansas City Chiefs and their concession vendors, Aramark Sports & Entertainment and Levy Restaurants, showed off a hearty helping of new food items set to be served at Arrowhead during the 2023 season.

This year's menu has exciting new additions, including a sandwich inspired by the team's food-loving head coach Andy Reid.

That new item is, of course, aptly named the Big Red Sandwich.

"We start off with a brioche bun. We get our coffee grinder pulled pork with all of her housemaid seasonings them a little bit up with silver black diamond brisket," Smoke Craft BBQ Pitmaster Cade Colson said at a preview event Wednesday.

The driving force behind many of Arrowhead's latest additions comes straight from the rich food culture cultivated by Chiefs Kingdom.

"We look at a lot of tailgating trends. We look at a lot of the food trends in a lot of our history," Levy Executive Chef Leo Dominguez said.

All the standard popcorn, chicken tenders, burgers, fries and more will still be present at the stadium. However, there are three exciting new items headed to general concession stands next Thursday.

Bacon Cheeseburger Fries: Crinkle-cut fries topped with ground beef, chopped pickle, bacon, diced tomatoes, white cheese sauce and drizzled in fry sauce.

Loaded BBQ Tots: Golden tots with chopped brisket and smoked cheddar sauce. Topped with crema and fresh green onion.

Big Red Sandwich: Sliced prime black Angus brisket and coffee-bined pulled pork on a toasted brioche bun, with pickles and BBQ sauce.

The club level of Arrowhead is getting three more tailgate-inspired dishes.

Bone-In Beef Short Rib Sandwich: Pepper jack cheese, crispy onion straws and spicy BBQ sauce.

Elote Nachos: Tortilla chips, elotes, pico de gallo, cotija cheese and green onions.

Tailgater Dog: Foot-long hot dog topped with nacho cheese and flaming hot Cheetos.

On top of all the food, the Chiefs, Levy and Aramark also showed off changes to the technology at Arrowhead. New autonomous stores and express self-checkout kiosks are present throughout the stadium and promise to make it easier than ever for fans to get their food and get back to the action.

Chiefs fans will be able to get their hands on all the new items and upgrades next Thursday when Kansas City takes on the Detroit Lions in the NFL season opener.
